And I have to continue to try to explain to prepubescent kiddies (BEFORE I ban them) that cursing just to curse, and being racial just to stir the pot, and trying to sass back to an admin is just not a thing one should do... and I don't care HOW SULLEN you think you are.
I was blogging (in a way) before the majority of you were even born on a BBS system, using a 900 baud modem (Boy, was I ever the xxxx when I went to 1200). To those scratching their head, BBS means BULLITEN BOARD SYSTEM. It's kinda like a forum and a blog, all wrapped together in a fantastic ASCII-only wrapper. You had to use your phone, and unless the BBS owner (Who was always just some other computer geek like yourself) was crazy enough to buy multiple lines, only one person could log in at a time. and. it. took. f o r e v e r to get anything done.
Ah.. those were the days.
I was also on the Internet (Such as it was) before a good many of you were born. It was 1987 and I was touring Penn State's local campus in my town. They brought me to the computer room and there I stayed. I was able to play a text-only golf game against a person from Russia in real time.. HOW FREAKIN' COOL! Seriously.. 1987. The net was all text based (With ASCII Versions of nudie girls). Then came USENET's UUencoded (part 1 of 600) posts just to see some boobs) Then came the pics of the actual nudie girls on WEBSITES.. then the animated gifs... then.. well, by this point most of you were on the net, and faking out your parents.
But know this: I paved the way for you, twerp. I played 688 Attack sub over a 2400 baud modem. I played battle chess over my 56k. I beta tested anything and everything multi-player. I pwn you more than you could ever imagine in your little 13-year old head.
Yet you keep killing me with that freakin scout, unscoped, and bunny-hopping at full speed.
